Etiquette is not just for eating dinner in a restaurant or going to a party, this is for everywhere and everyday use. The same holds true when it comes to joining a carpool. To be able to get along with everyone in your carpool, you also have to adopt some manners that will want them to share a ride with you again.
One of the main etiquette that you should observe in a carpool is being respectful of the vehicle of the people you are carpooling with. If you are riding in another commuter's car or van, then you have to be mindful of his or her rules when it comes to things like smoking, drinking and eating. If you spilled your drink, you have to clean this up and if you happened to damage something inside, either you offer to have it fixed or have it replaced.
Now, if you are the one driving, then a perfect etiquette to observe is showing consideration to the people getting a ride with you. You should not only drive at an acceptable speed but also smoothly and carefully. You always to make sure that your passengers are not only safe but also comfortable. Remember that you could only get the trust of your fellow commuters and have them ride with you again, if you will show them that you are a responsible and considerate driver.
Another important manner that you should have while you are in a carpool is being always courteous to your fellow commuters. Although this is a pretty obvious thing that you should observe, you should always keep this in mind, even if you have already made them into your friends. You should be mindful of even the littlest things that could bother them like talking loudly on your mobile phone or smoking without asking if anyone would mind. You might consider these things minor, but they can be a big deal if there are people who are not enjoying the ride with you.
